About this deity

The Ram Darbar — Ram, Sita, Lakshman, and Hanuman — is the household of dharma. Ram and Sita centred, Lakshman to one side, Hanuman in devotional pose at their feet: this is the family form of right living, kept in many North Indian pooja rooms.

Craft notes

Hand-painted enamel work in the meenakari tradition — each colour band laid into engraved channels, fired, and polished. The craft is centuries old; the technique cannot be machined. The piece is solid brass throughout — there is no plating, no hollow shell. Slight variations in finish, dimension, and weight are inherent to the handmade process and are part of the character of each piece.
